Cabernet Franc is not usually associated with Italy and Italian cabernet franc are not easy to find abroad or in Italy simply because of the very distinctive nose and palate of the grape, a nose and palate that are not everyone's’ cup of tea, but Scubla’s Cabernet Franc is one of our favourite wine and we love it.
A 100% cabernet franc made from manually harvested cabernet tranc grapes grown in the Colli Orientali area, Friuli Venezia Giulia, with its characteristic herbaceous nose and hints of raspberry that evolve into a more complex nose as the wine ages in the bottle. The palate is very hearty, with a soft tannin and almost a chocolaty aftertaste. A great Cabernet Franc and a great wine.
